Speeding Ticket nothing for 14 days have i got away with it?
Read on an earlier post
"As long as you got the NIP (Notice of Intended Prosecution) for exceeding speed the speed limit within 14 days (ignoring the day of the offence) then they can proceed against you. If it took longer than 14 days to reach you then there is a get-out clause."
I got pulled by a patrol car for doing 38 in a 30, at 12:15am on a deserted road
They gave me a ticket and a producer, I surrendered my driving license at the station a couple of days after i got pulled. The ticket became my temporary license.
Now it was over 20 days since and ive heard nothing or had nothing through the post. Exactly what is this 14 day clause?
Ive also heard sometimes when reviewing your ticket they dont go ahead with it eg. 12:15 am doing 38mph isnt exactly what id call dangerous driving. And never get in touch about it?

You've already got a ticket though. The 14 days applies to a NIP (notice of intended prosecution) from fixed cameras or tali-vans.

So of you get pulled by a patrol car its a case of me waiting now to simply recieve the points on my licence and the £60 fine?
Has anyone been pulled by a patrol car and got away with it?0 -

Didn't the ticket have details on it of how to pay the fine? I am sure my friend had to send off a cheque or credit card details to the address on the back of the ticket.
What grounds do you think you might have to appeal against the ticket. This would be the only way you "get away with it" but you have to show that in some way the ticket is wrong.0 -
Ive just looking on the back of the ticket and theres a slip to fill out with credit card details and post off for the £60 fine

I was under the impression I would recieve it officially thru the post. Ah well guess im best paying it, it would cost 3 times more to take it to court.
Hopefully the SP30 wont increase my insurance too much!

SP30 won't make a difference. When I went from 3 to 6 points it added £30 to my annual premium.Happy chappy0
