hi guys,
im looking for the best mp3 wripper out there,
criteria - must be ID3 compatible (i.e. search for artist, album, album cover)
rips to all bit rates
doesn't use all my ram up

EAC (Exact Audio Copy) if you really want the most accurate rips, although it loses out in terms of speed then.
CDex is great, and comes with the LAME encoder. It can hook up to the freedb or cddb for all the track info etc...
Both are free, and rip to all bit rates. I'd recommend a variable bitrate. One of the lame presets, standard or extreme. The LAME encoder works better at higher (192+) bitrates.
If encoding variably though it will take longer, quite a lot longer actually compared with encoding at a constant bit rate."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
