Arnold Clark

Thought I'd post my recent experiences of Arnold Clark.

I bought a company van 6 months ago and must admit got a reasonable price. Managed to get 6 months road tax and first service included for free.

After a few days of driving around I noticed that the Road Tax wasn't there. There I was driving around illegally without knowing it. Contacted AC obviously a bit annoyed and they said they'd sort it out. After 4 days of constant phone calls and two trips into the showroom I was eventually given the Road tax.

After 3 or 4 months received a call from AC that the first service was due. Advised them that I expected the service to be non-chargeable, oh no, they didn't have any record of that. Yes, I had foolishly forgotten to get it on paper. However, I advised them that I'd probably be buying another van as of next year and if they couldn't keep their end of the bargain I'd be taking my trade elsewhere - they promply changed their mind, no surprise!

Road tax woes part 2.

With the 6 months tax expiry approaching there was no sign of the renewal through the door from the DVLA. Phoned the DVLA and they advised that a dealer was still the registered owner.

The divets hadn't sent off the V5. Of course they tried to squirm out of the blame. After many days of ranting down the phone and a trip into the showroom again on my only day off I may add they said they'd sort it out if I paid them the money for Tax and send it recorded delivery to my Mothers house (as I was working).

Got the tax many days later after more ranting on phone via the Royal Mail sorting office after they'd sent it to my address and not my Mothers! My Mum got to stay in the hoose for 3 days for nothing.

A shower of incompetent divs. I will not be buying anything from them ever again due to the utter hassle they caused me.
