    Happy days!

My three year fix at 4.99% ends in late January. Now fingers crossed HSBC pass some of the cut(s) along to their SVR.

I know we was kinda expecting a 1% drop but a 1.5% drop?? isnt this showing that the situation is getting more and more serious as the days go on?

I am currently on a 5.5% fixed with abbey.
Wonder if they will reduce their rates across the board after this big cut.

    You mean increase, don't you?

Are you so self-centred that you only see this major issue in terms of how it affects your own wallet in the short term? Have you no consideration of the long-term well-being of our nation?

Can't believe a 1.5% cut was already priced in?

It'll be interesting to see how it settles out later today. I believe that the markets had factored in a 0.75% cut and (pointless!) economists had expected a move of "at least 50 basis points", with a minority forecasting a reduction of 1% to 3.5%.

It's going to be interesting to see how many Lenders withdraw their Trackers.
  • Hooray! Haven't got much in savings but our mortgage will now drop below £300 per month - if our lenders 'pass it on' of course.

I see it as preserving jobs and helping people NOT to lose their homes through reposessions. That is well-being isn't it?
