Amazon missing gift certificates - Beware

Just thought I would let you know that £10 of amazon gift certificates went from my account without warning. It has taken 8 weeks to get this response from Amazon.
"I apologise for the delay in responding to your e-mail message. Please be assured that all of us here are working very hard to provide a thorough, personal reply to each of our customers as quickly as possible.
Due to some technical error the 10.00 GBP gift certificate was missing from your account, to serve you better I would like to offer you a 10.00 GBP promotional gift certificate, for use towards your next Amazon.co.uk order. "
If you are like me and get rewarded for surveys/forums etc,. with Amazon vouchers, or get lots as pressies, then please keep an eye on your total gift certificates. I wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for the fact I had checked my balance after ordering something the previous week.
As far as I am aware the certificates were all in date as I use them every 6 months or so.
I asked if Amazon would consider putting a more detailed list of all certificates available and when they expire so that we can easily see such errors, but this appears to have fallen on deaf ears. From now I will keep a tally of my
certificates elsewhere.
Hope this helps prevent anyone else having this problem.
