in Credit cards
... set up a direct debit.
With all the Bank Holidays coming up usually someone gets caught out by a late payment on their credit card.
The easiest way to avoid this is to set up a direct debit - either for the full amount, the minimum amount or something in between.
If your card company does not allow payment amounts between the minimum and full amount on direct debit - you can set up for a minimum amount on direct debit and any additional amount you wish to pay on standing order.
Hope this helps someone avoid a late payment due to the Bank Hols.

I think it is a little bit to late for this otherwise sound advise. :think: It is usually takes from 2 to 3 weeks to set up DD, and normally your next credit card statement still will require an alternative payment. :xmassign:0

Good point!
I suppose I was thinking in terms of online banking but as you say DDs can take a while longer to set up. (Despite all the technology these days...)
The possible way round this then if you can afford it and have online banking, is to set up a minimum payment by standing order. I think this only takes a working day to take effect?
It seems to with Smile anyway.0 -
that for a payment to reach my cc account by the Jan 3rd 2006, you really need to make that payment NOW!!!!
Think about it, we only have 3 more working days of this week and after that the next working day is 28th December (26th & 27th are both bank holidays). You have 2 more working days after that and then the next is the 3rd!!!
Scary thought or what!2014 Target;
To overpay CC by £1,000.
Overpayment to date : £310
2nd Purse Challenge:
£15.88 saved to date0
