:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: For a laugh I registered on that website and asked it to do me a training programme - starting tomorrow and ending with doing the 10k run in June. Based on my height, weight, current level of fitness and training 3 days a week, the response was

Considering the time left to work out to prepare for the 10 kilometres, it might become difficult for you to finish the 10 kilometres in time.

You will have to accept that the goal you have set yourself is too ambitious and it is possible you will cover the distance over a longer time. You will possibly complete the 10 kilometres partly by walking and partly by running.

I really am a lost cause!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where it said 'what time do you want to finish the race in ' - I just picked 'finish the race'!!!!

i've looked at last years results and the finsihers were between 30mins, (nutty professional athletes!!) and 2 hours 19 mins....

yer average runner will come in somewhere around the hour mark....

my one and only other 10k in 2004 was 78 minutes.... i'm aiming for somewhere less than 90 mins this time...

If people are coming in in 2 hours + they are probably walking or run/walking it, so please don't stress about it.... it's very much a mixed abilities kinda run.....

and with training 10k is possible in about 8 weeks from nothing if you are relatively healthy never mind actually fit as such....... we have 4 times that timescale..... (rough count, someone feel free to correct me!!)

seconded to that maz, its a big field so easy to just grab hold of some poor !!!!!!s giant banana suit and go with the flow!
