rainmac - I think it was you that suggested Rymans for bits and bobs like pom poms etc, but I forgot to look in York :o (memory like a sieve lol) but Home Bargains were doing a boxed set of craft items. The boxes included:

70 Chenille Stems (posh words for pipe cleaners lol)
    80 Pom Poms
6 x Felt pieces (about the size of an average flannel)
    30 x Wiggle Eyes
    ! x Scissors
    1 x Glue and
36 feathers (no idea what they can be used for but the box does include some vague ideas ;))

I can't be certain if they were £2.99 or £1.99 (I think it was the latter but please don't quote me anyone :o;) ) but as my OH had kindly picked up some individual Chenille Stems (lol) at 10p each ...! the box seemed like a good bargain whatever of those two prices, imo. For some strange reason, these were well above eye level in my local store, so keep an eye up for them :D

Thanks for all the well wishes and PM's ... I will reply to PM's to let you know how I get on ;) I hoping it will be cancelled due to the snow ... (failing that I doubt he will turn up and will probably blame the snow!)

Mary don't worry about her being a domestic godess ... both Rainmac and I are moving in after christmas so we can do ironing/housework between us and you can put up your feet with a cup of snowman soup :rotfl:

What? I thought we'd agreed to move into Mary's so we could do craft things all day, not do the washing and ironing, I wanted to move in with Mary to get away from all of that stuff :D

Did your OH buy you an ironing board thinking the other one must be broken cos you don't iron? :rotfl:

I only iron what I have to. I would really rather clean another bathroom than do the ironing ;)

Just nipped into the chinese supermarket for the last of the bits for my brother's (20) sushi box. I still need to make (or buy) a book for him to go with it. I was going to make it with my friends (we do this sometimes) and take photos as we go along to put into the book, but I think I'm running out of time (and evenings before Christmas! EEEK!)

    I now have:
    Nori seaweed sheets
    Sushi Rice
    Sushi seasoning vinegar
    Wasabi
    Soy sauce
    Pickled ginger
    2 bamboo rolling mats
A spoon (came with the mats, think its for spooning the rice onto the sheets)
    A bootle of Sake

Think I'm just going to cover a shoebox with japanese style paper, as I don't think my brother will use a basket.

OH has said that because I've gone to so much effort with the homemade goodies for our food hampers he feels bad so he's going to add some extras to them so he can say he did something! We've decided to put them in reuseable shopping bags (like the type that tesco sell with the ladybirds on) as they'll be easier to transport on the train. I made stollen at the weekend for them too, but it didn't turn out quite right (stupid oven!) so I made another batch which was better. So now we have loads of stollen to eat. Yum.

Morning all, Fantastic hampers, Rainmac yours is so lovely ... you know my address ;) :rotfl:

Well just wanted to say hope everyone has a fun filled weekend, I am back in court tomorrow with my ex partner (most of you already know the situation) Hid demands to call every wednesday which I agreed to so far have gone ignored as he hasn't bothered to call or try to get in touch for 8 weeks now, Meaning the last time he heard/spoke to his son was for the 3 hour visit at the beginning of september. Court should be a good one tomorrow, well if my solicitor ever bothers to return my phone calls (can see me finding a new solicitor aswell!!!) I also finally have a good enough figure to show how much (do I mean how little) maintenance he has paid .... I now have over £900 in arrears of child support payments which I am sure will look so good on him when I mention it to the judge ;)

Anyway have fun all and hopefully I will be back on next week!

    Rusty xx

hope all goes well Rusty good luck for tomorrow and have a lovely weekend xxx
