Can anyone shed any light on a problem I'm having with my Kingston Micro SD Card
the problem is I can't seem to transfer any more files from my mobile phone (Samsung SGH-E900) to the card, despite there being plenty of free space
before installing the card into the phone I formatted the card, since then I have copied a very small number of files from the phone to the card
The card has approx 98/99% available space left, now here is the where the problem starts
It won't let me transfer ant more files to the card, despite having so much space available
tonight I have saved all files on the card to my PC then deleted all files on the card, then reformatted
The first files I tried to transfer after this failed :mad::mad::mad::mad:
has anyone any ideas as to what is going on, what is wrong etc
I should add the cards bought are from Hong Kong (DealExtrem?) despite supposedly being new they where both used when I got them, so I deleted all files then formatted the cards, was this correct????
thanks in advance for any assistance/tips

Forgive me, how do I do this, can't see any where on the phone to do thisdid you format it on the phone?
like I said earlier once i formatted the card, I could transfer files but only a very small amount
also I gave the phone to a friend, who deals in phones etc he could not do anything with it, hence I'm posting on here
thanks for your response0 -
maybe its a fake?
The compress smaller sized cards and compress it so it looks bigger but seldom works properly.0 -
I think you could have something here, because despite the card supposedly being "brand" new this along with 2 others I ordered from the same place all had Japanese MP3 music tracks on them when I received them :mad::mad::mad:maybe its a fake?

so much for being brand new then0 -

I have reformatted the card now a few times and each time it comes back withmaybe its a fake?

1920672 maximum space available
and
1920512 space available
so it seems there should be 2GB of free space

I have a Samsung J700 phone with a 2GB memory card in. When i link it to a PC i have the same problem. What i found is that when you transfer files to the mobile it puts it into the phone memory and not in the memory card. As you know the phone memory is small. I have to go into the phone afterwards and ransfer the files to memory card. For some reason you cannot see the memory card in the phone on the PC. The best route for you is to get a memory card reader and plug the card straight into the PC. Afterwards remove card and put it into phone. Works for me.
You might find the following interesting.
On the side of your memory card is a latch which enables you to lock the card so you can't write on it. If you slide it to the other position then you can write to it. The following has happened to me. I put the latch in the position to allow me to write on it. When i insert the card into a memory reader the latch catches the side and makes the card read only.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

Wazza, thanks for that, I'm trying that now
but I thought the whole idea of these cards was to transfer files from your phone to the card, to free up the memory in the phone0 -
Wazza, you should find that you can access the memory card directly through Windows Explorer, but only the phone memory through PC Studio. I have an E900 and my GF a J700, both with 2GB Kingston cards and have had no problems with either. The only thing I can suggest for bignred is to error check the SD card or see if you can copy from your PC directly to the card.0

but what do you mean "error check"
