Has this mesh computer got an atx case?

Hi there,

I have decided to buy a new motherboard bundle for my old mesh matrix 700 gdr computer as I had already upgraded a number of the componests over the years. It has now 2 hard disks a 60 gb and a 250 gb. I have also added a dvd writer. Running xp pro.

1 The new motherboard bundle would have to support the above 2 hard drives
2 a creative sound blaster platinum with live drive (breakout box) at front of computer (already installed on the existing mesh case)
3 I have an nvidia 5200 geforece agp graphics card with tv out, but the chances are wont be able to install that on a new motherboard unless you can advice otherwise. Really want the tv out function, even better if the new board had it built in.

the Mitsubisha 17 inch monitor is fine and will keep on using that.

My question are is the matrix case (computer bought june 2000) an atx case that should fit most modern motherboards? Was reviewed here

PC Pro: Computer Buyer Reviews:

I am looking to spend somewhere in the region of £150 for the motherboard bundle, as regards a power supply unit I have a new 400 watts one lying about that I could use.

What would be your advice, can I get a good quality board bundle for around the £150 mark and even better if the existing case would do?

Hope someone can point me in the right direction,

thanks in advance for any kind advice offered.

joe

difficult to say - I had a look around for the specs of the matrix and couldnt really confirm it . I would expect it is ATX, but to be sure I think I would take the mobo out and check its screw holes location against another ATX case .. that way you should know if it will accept one.

Get yourself a new case, they cost £20 from maplin with a new PSU. Its not worth the hassle of an old style case, then turn your old PC into a fileserver!

I would have thought that the case would be ATX, however it may have some curious mounting points as at that point Mesh were using custom mobo boards.

You can grab a new case from ebuyer from about £10-11 and up.
