Bradford & Bingley...safe???

I have just had a good quote for B&B home insurance.

I have heard some bad reports about them tho.....is it a good idea to use them if they arn't doing very well????

Was it a quote for insurance with an insurance company, I wasn't aware B&B did insurance ( could be wrong though)

i just got my household through them ..it was a good quote...£94 for 40k cover
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Why would you be worried about them sorting you out home insurance and going bust?

    The world is going loopy.
Living the good life spending all my money but loving it!!

no harm in asking the question if you're concerned..

The 'bad' reports you heard were probably news reports of the recent govt take-over or 'nationalisation' of B&B
the savings arm was sold-on to Abbey, the rest of the company backed by the govt.
any possible trading problems they may have with the rest of the company will be met by the govt

so no worries about going bust!
