Various shares - No idea what i've got

Years ago I purchased shares in the various companies that were privatised. Now need to cash them in to aid in my debt management., trouble is I'm lousy at paperwork and have got no idea on what the running total is for each of the companies.
Powergen
National Power
International power
LloydsTSB
Innogy
Prudential (was Egg)
telent (was Marconi)

Some have folded or been bought out.

Is there anywhere, where if I provide the account /certificate numbers I get a total number of shares held.

Places like the London Stock Exchanges website will give you some basic Ideas about the values, but I think that you will have to get in touch with individual registrars, to get the others, also you will probably have to change address with the registrars, you may have some outstanding dividends.

The registrars name is printed on the certificate so that is where I would start, you may have to write to them, but could be well rewarding.
