Ns&i

Ok, so a couple of weeks ago, I came across three long forgotten bank books of mine.
I have had them updated, and are as follows:

NS&I
Last updated: 4th September 1992.
was worth £121.30
now worth £304.07

Yorkshire BS
Last updated 30th June 1999
was worth £241.91
now worth £321.12

Leeds Permanent BS (now HBOS)
Last updated 1st December 2001
was worth £25.67
now worth £26.89

So I was wondering if there was any advantage in keeping any cash in NS&I? I know that all savings are guaranteed there, but I am nowhere near any £35k threshold. I'd rather have my money where I could access it more easily in the local BS.

thanks

Ambla

When you sent the book off to NS&I did you get the original book returned?

I called and asked them for a statement. They send me a piece of paper with my balance on it....

NS&I Is very safe as your money is 100% safe. But because of this you earn less intrest on your money.
If you have under £35000 then then there are some great accounts out there with good intrest a lot better then NS&I

And your money is safe upto £35000.

    All the best
