TV/DVD/Sky+/Wii setup

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but seems like it could be...

As title really, I have a TV (2 SCARTs), DVD Player (1 SCART), Sky+ (2 SCARTs) and a Wii (1 SCART adapter) and would appreciate some advice on the best way to set this up (I have just got rid of an old video player from the setup as well).

Only ever watch TV through the Sky+ box if that makes any difference :o.

Thanks.

    Plug the wii direct to the TV, if you want to play on it, press the AV (or somthing like that) button on your TV remote . Want to watch sky again press the SKY button on your sky remote.

    So would this be ok:

    DVD -> SCART1 on Sky+
    SCART2 on Sky+ -> SCART1 on TV
    Wii -> SCART 2 on TV

    ...

    That would be fine.
  • if you havent got enough scarts left and you want to connect something else up you can buy multi scarts which can be cheap

    FULL scart are RGB enabled. If not then theyre COMPOSITE ONLY (basic video)
    Most tvs are scart 1 ~ RGB, scart 2 ~ composite
    So if you watch sky mostly, you should plug the sky into scart 1
    The wii is only a composite adaptor, so may as well plug that into scart 2 of the tv. The sky doesnt (That I know of) have a THROUGHput (Meaning you cant plug your dvd through it). So its a case of unplugging the sky when you watch dvd and swop the cables over
    OR
    Use a switchbox (But these tend to lower quality quite a bit)
    Does the tv have an SVIDEO socket?

    Thanks, noticed that so have done as you've suggested.

    Seems to work ok with my Sky+ box so have left it as it is for now, however I may invest in a switchbox if I need to connect anything else as well.
    No, the tv does not have an SVIDEO socket.

    If you can give me the exact make and model of your tv, I can possibly find out if both scarts are RGB enabled (Though it should be in the manual too)
    That would mean it would be better plugging the dvd into AV2 and just plugging in the wii when you use it

    ooooo, by the way. Make sure RGB is selected in the sky boxes 'picture settings' menu
