Out of date credit report information within Experian

I was hoping someone would be able to give me advice on this. I recently tried to apply for a loan through 2 companies and got turned down. As a regular payer on any cards/loans, I ran a credit report through Experian (the rating agency the company used). Although I had paid off, and closed out a few old credit cards, approximately 2 weeks ago, the status of those credit cards within Experian wasn't listed as 'settled' within the credit report. Effectively the Experian report still showed me as having available credit on those closed cards, and therefore my credit score was in the 'poor' bracket. I also cannot get an exact date from the applicable credit card companies as to when they will be informing Experian of the closed cards to get this information updated. 2 queries on this: 1) Can I get any credit searches deleted as they are based upon Experian information which doesn't reflect the true status of the cards. 2) Is there any way to get an exact date from the Credit card companies as to when they will inform Experian?

Any advice would be appreciated....Thanks.

Were the loans just automatically declined? You could try appealing against the decision so that a person makes the decision rather than the computer. You'll then have the opportunity to explain about the cards being closed.

If you want to do this just contact the loan company and ask how.

Credit files are usually updated every couple of months or so. I doubt you'd be able to get an exact date from the credit card companies.
