Ebico price on 2nd Oct but informed today!

Just got home and found a letter from Ebico politely letting me know that since October 2nd I have been paying more for my gas and electricity!

Looking back it seems to have been mentioned on this forum, however this is the first time I have heard about it from Ebico!! Surely these companies are not allowed to wait over a month before informing you that you are being charged more?

Fair to say that I will now be looking else where for cheaper dual-fuel.

Do a search! Lots of people posting about just having been advised of their price increase which occured some time ago no matter what their supplier.

If you regularly read this site you'll be aware of the price increases, either by the various threads or by Martin's articles.

If you don't regularly read this site - start now!

    Hi

The letter you received from Ebico is the key to getting cheaper Ebico rates(for now)
    As mentioned on this forum:
Look at the last paragraph of the back of the enclosed leaflet you received with the paragraph headed "your rights with regards this notice"

If you inform Ebico within ten working days that you are leaving them they are obliged to give you the old rates until 15 days after you apply for a new supplier.

Also as you will see in other threads they have 65 yes 65 days to tell you AFTER the increase.

I agree, they are quick to send you an email with pointless information every month, yet I only found out through It Pays To Watch - phoned up on the 3rd with my readings, which they have ignored, to my benefit fortunately, unlike in April! So much for being ethical  I was tempted to have a rant at them but not worth the effort - am tempted to move my Electricity as it's no longer the cheapest :(

They are actually obliged to give you the old rates until your switch is completed, which is much better. Could mean between 8-12 weeks at pre-increase prices...
