Abbey Overdraft Fee

Hi, im after some advice from any other abbey customers.
I was due to be charged £70 on 31st oct, for two unpaid direct debits from the beginning of october.
Today its the 5th november, and they still havent taken the £70 from my account. Ive purposely left enough in the account to cover it, but obviously times are hard and that £70 would come in handy.
Is this a usual thing for abbey? Ive been charged in the past, and theyve taken the fee on the exact day the statement says it will.
