MP3 Ear Phones for Very Small Ears!!!

Hubby has bought me a creative zen for my christmas - I tried the ear phones for size but as my ears are soo small, they would not go in. He tried with a pair of the over the ears ones from Maplins(philips ones I think), but once the loop isover my ear , the ear phone thingy is down at my lobes.... Can any one recommend decent (but cheap!!) earphones that may do the job Many thanks all :xmassign:

No advice here but I know how you feel as I can never get those ear phone things to stay in either. Instead I have opted for the old fashioned type ones which go over your head.

  • Hi Amanda,

I have a similar problem with the normal headphones supplied with any audio device just doesn't fit in my ears. So, I went to dixons and got a pair of Sony headphones that have this "Bass boost" feature that basically adds a little bit to the headphones so that they can stick in your ear a little better.

Another advantage of these head phones is that they cost less than £20, and the sound is amazing. Believe me, I've tried a fair number in my audio buying lifetime so far. They look like this:

I'm not sure if this is the exact one I got, but, if you goto Dixons, you should find it there, and it should be £17.99 if I remember correctly.

    Anyhow, good luck!

I'd second that pair. Mine eventually went after years of constant use, but they were very good. I've since moved on to more expensive isolation plugs, which I don't really prefer that much. I definitely miss my old sony's.

Sony also do headphones that come with different sized rubber parts for different sized ears. The only downside is that they need to be placed quite deep in your ear to get an optimum bass response, which some people don't like the feel of.

Isolation plugs. Most manufacturers will offer a few sizes of bud with the phones, you can interchange them very easily. It can affect the sound you get from the phones.

They certainly cut out most external noise. Not sure if they're too good for you ears, and you certainly have to pay more attention (if walking around busy roads). Took me a week to get used to mine, not entirely sure if I'd buy another pair. Little annoying things, such as chewing is magnified (due to the vacuum in your ear). With isolation plugs it's best to try them out before buying a pair.

Apple also do a set of in-ear phones and they're brilliant. Same sort of price - I think currys have them for about £20. They come with 3 different cone sizes as well, so should have something that fits you. Best thing about them is you can lie on top of them on the pillow without hurting your ears. I regularly go to sleep with mine on.
