£800pp for an exotic honeymoon - ideas?

Hi guys!
I was wondering if you could help us out. We are getting married at the end of May and would like to go away on honeymoon for 10-14 days either the 1st week of June or leaving the last weekend of August.
We'd really like to go somewhere far-flung as we're planning on starting a family in the next couple of years and so this may be our last chance for a while! BUT we can only realistically budget about £800 each for flights/hotels etc.
We'd ideally like to combine some beach lazing with a bit of culture/adventure. We've been looking at Cuba as it's somewhere we'd love to go, but it seems like twin-centre holidays for beach and Havana start at a bit more than we can afford. We're also thinking about the States (although not Las Vegas or Florida) or Thailand or anywhere really!!
Please can anyone share any ideas for us? Has anyone else managed to have a great long-haul holiday for this kind of budget lately?
Thank you so much in advance!

We have booked some good holidays through www.teletext.co.uk in the past, (Maldives) had a quick look in May next year (don't know exact dates) and you can get 10 days all inclusive in the Dominican Republic or 10 days B&B in Cancun, Mexico, in your price bracket. I am sure there will be better deals nearer the time though, particularly in January - most travel companies do good deals in the New Year. Hope that helps.0
