Club La Costa Free Holiday

Hi,

Just had a call from 01268 557600 saying I'd won a free 7 night luxury holiday to either Tenerife, Portugal or Spain, all flights/accommodation free, you just have to pay £29.50 admin fee etc etc. Now I know this is a timeshare scam, I googled their 0800 number you have to ring, and found a number of pages, including many in this forum: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=462241&highlight=free+holiday

However, I wanted to know what people thought on attending the 'presentation' (timeshare hard sell), if you go specifically not to sign up, just with the intention of getting the free holiday/shopping vouchers. Is it worth it? Has anyone been to one of these presentations and got the free holiday?

Suggestions/comments welcome!

Ben

  • Hi
I had the same prize last year. If we attended the presentation we would get £50 of shopping vouchers and the holiday. We went to the presentation which lasted about 2 hours. The timeshare did sound good but very expensive. After about 30 minutes of them trying different finance packages, we said we could not afford it and they then said ok and gave us the vouchers and details for claiming the holiday(£29.50 each). There was no hard sell and the vouchers were very useful although we did not take up the holiday.:D

Anything "won" without entering a competition will cost you MUCH MORE in fees/taxes/hassle than the value of the "prize"

    That is guaranteed.
  • We did enter a 'so say' competition when we were on holiday in Spain at Alicantee airport. We were there with my parents & my fiancee's parents, and we all got a phone call saying we'd won, and exactly the same referance number.
