HSBC Credit Card Questions

Received my HSBC card the other day and have only been given a £2500 limit. As the card arrived preactivated I wasn't able to haggle the credit limit upon activation.

I called up CS today to try to arrange a bigger limit (£3000). I was informed that since it is a new card it would be highly unlikely that the computer would up my limit. I asked him to try anyway. The computer did come back with a "NO". I was also informed that this decision can not be appealed.

Is this correct? As I reckon if a human was to look into my case I would probably get the £3000 I require.

One last thing, what other payment methods are available apart from direct debit?

Thanks.

You could pay by internet banking, or in a branch of HSBC or any other banks that you have accounts with. If you tried to do it at a bank that you don't have an account with then they might try and charge you to do so.
Could have a set amount you want to pay (making sure it is at least equal to or over the minimum payment) and set up a standing order with your bank.
You could also send a cheque through the post or telephone banking.
    Loads of different ways.
