Help - Windows shuts down but PC is still on.

Hi,

When i close windows the screen goes blank but the PC is still running (fan on etc) how do i get to close this fully down.

I had a little search of google but no help there, the power options in control panel do not work but i tried the settings in start up and recovery and unclicked auto starts i then tried to close it and it worked. The PC fully shut down. So i tried it again and i'm back to square one and the box is unticked.

Any help would be great

I can now turn it off and power down by pressing the power button for 5 secs or so.

It sounds like its going into hibernation rather than shutting down, check carefully next time you shut it down that Hibernate isnt already selected.
