I wish to use my window media player ver 10 to burn an mp3 track, is there any software that can do this free via plug in? The ones MS recommend charge.

Windows Media Player does that
Tools, Options, Rip Tab, Rip Settings, its in there.

yes i tried under the options i can rip to wma but when i try mp3 it come up with
"Windows Media Player cannot rip the track because a compatible MP3 encoder is not installed on your computer. Install a compatible MP3 encoder or choose a different format to rip to (such as Windows Media Audio)."0 -
Download WMP 10 again and install. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx as WMP 10 has all the MP3 codecs bundled... or http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx

re installed WMP10 again from your link, but still can get it to rip mp3 format, only wma with same message.0
