Warning ICESAVE email from fscs.org.uk gets marked as junk

Hello,

I would check your junk email folders today as hotmail marked the 'FSCS Managed Payout for Icesave Customers' as junk.

So... add enquiries@fscs.org.uk to your safe senders.

if you don’t know how to-do that, adding it as a contact normally does the trick.

To be honest, I get 10's of phishing emails, they normally get picked up and junked. A legit email talking about getting money may get picked up. I would recommend ICESAVE publish ALL the steps that people need to take on there website.

If your email software will allow it, you are better off adding *@fscs.org.uk just in case they choose to use a different source name next time.

The reason Icesave are going to email privately rather than publish the steps is because they want to release the funds in batches, rather than have everyone rush to the website en masse and crash it.

  • But, they could put all the info on the website and warn people about the junk email issue.

Not everyone reads this site, I did think the email would get junked and I have been telling my friends this, some people just delete junk email so they will never see the email.

They could code the website so it protects against over load, I work in IT and if someone gave me this as a task I could do it. I could even do it in a few days, it wouldn’t be that hard.
