I am wanting to pay for a hotel in New york through American airlines.
Is there any card i can get that will allow me to pay for this in USD and keep the balance in USD untill i decide to make a payment, then convert my Sterling to the USD balance.
I have a BMI AMEX card but i am sure when i pay with that it will instantly convert to sterling on my account, and with the interest rate low i dont want this.
Thanks for the help

No I don't think you'll find this.
As there are loads of hotels in New York, could you wait for a bit before booking?
If your chosen hotel becomes full then there are plenty of others to choose from.0 -

The AMEX would be no good if he's wanting to only make minimal payments until the exchange rate is more favourable, it's a charge card not a credit card.0 -

Hi guys thanks for the response. As you say above the Green card is no good reallym it only gives me 1month for the rates to rise. Which is doubtful.
Still havent booked hotel and havent been able to find a card with these benefits.
Now considering cancelling the flights and waiting for the ex rate to get better. I will just see what happens over the next few weeks.
Any new comments or advice more than welcome.
