Remote controls/Magic Eye on Sky

I'm so frustrated  Hope someone can help.

i have a Sky system set up on Freestat, with sky box and main TV in living room, with kitchen and bedroom having magic eye connections so can change channel in those rooms with remote controls.

A few weeks ago, stopped being able to change channels and red LED lights out on the magic eyes. Tried everything, and eventually had to call out TV man (who charged £35) who told me that RF1 outlet on Sky box had "gone" and moved everything to RF2 outlet. Then everything fine.

Yesterday all remote controls stopped working and the only way to change channels was by using the buttons on the sky box itself. i got a spare Sky box which never use and tried that. I can now get to change channels on TV in living room, but not elsewhere. LEDs are lit up on magic eyes, the RF channel is enabled on sky box and the red light is lit on the amplifier. Connections are tight and correct.
what could be wrong please:question:
thanks in advance
