Sky Plus copy to video help please.

We have just got a new tv and already had SKY Plus everything works fine but we can not copy things recorded on Sky plus onto our seperate video recorder.

It's a video and DVD combined.

We can watch Videos and DVD's on the TV ok so it seems to be connected ok but when I press copy on a recorded Sky plus programme then switch the Video to record, it sounds like its recording. But when we play it back it is just a black screen no sound nothing.

I think we might be recording a different channel when we switch to record.
Cant figure it out and ive got a whole series of stuff I want to copy to video.

thanks for any help.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
First off your VCR must be connected to the VCR socket on the Sky box.
You need to set your VCR input selector to AV1 or similar (i.e not its tuner)
The Sky + copy function has various bugs, so its better to simply play you programme and record it to the VCR
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Need a bit more info really -- but the Sky+ "Copy" function outputs on the VCR Scart on the box and can sometimes give Aspect Ratio ratio problems -- I personally use the TV o/p on the sky box into my dvd Recorder and then up to the TV from that -- also you should ensure that the source i/p to your VCR/DVD combi is selected properly [usually Line 1 or 2 or A1 A2] -- hope this helps if not I'll try something else if you can give me the Exact connections you have between all your component cabling -- Dave

Thanks very much, it will work if I record to video from a playback through the TV.
