Extremely high electricity bill

An electric shower has a cold water feed and heats using an electric element a bit like a super quick kettle providing hot water as and when you need it.
If your shower is coming off the hot water feed it is probably a power shower or a mixer shower.
As I understand it neither of these are suitable for use with an immersion heater so if you have electric water heating you probably have an electric shower that runs from the cold mains.0 -
Does anyone know how long a Pulsacoil boiler takes to heat up water from cold ? Mine is the smallest boiler available if this helps. I've been told 30mins is sufficient, anyone know ?0

Sorry to revive this old post but I was wondering: if I'm 2 people talking a shower each a day wouldn't it be cheaper to just use the boost function when we shower?
I should mention we haven't got economy7 and no hope of getting it either (the meter is in the basement and only the concierge has access, I really doubt they would let us have it replaced for an E7 one)0
