Help with selling

Hi, i've sold the odd little thing on ebay over the years and it's always gone well. recently i ended up with a spare core xbox (long story but was on here earlier). Anyway I put it up for sale and it closed at 321 and i was very happy. the winner got in touch to say they were in hte states and had bid by mistake. they'd pay my listing fees if I let them off. I said ok and paid to relist it. They haven't payed my fees despite me contacting them loads.
on the relist I got a bid, they then got in touch to say they didn't want it could i remove their bid (grr), but i did it. it got one bid in the end, so i was happy, i just want rid of it. they have now said they can't pay for it with paypal as they are not cleared to pay so much. it will take 4 days to sort out, and since they want it for christmas they want to with draw.
I have been in touch to say they could BAC me the payment. I also have said my paypal account accepts credit cards so it shouldn't be an issue (but i think i'm wrong on that one) i have also said could they not just do mulitple small payments. They have not replied to a single email althouhg i'll give them a bit longer, but if they aren't going to pay i need to relist it.
So the question is, what do i do? how do i get them to pay? or what action do i take if they don't?
advice is much appreciated.
Thanks

    Hi

The best i can suggest is do a NPB against them get your fees and relist.

If you want the money before Christmas you could try putting an ad in a newsagents window or in your front window of your house (if your on a busy road). I'm sure someone would be interested in buying it at this time of year.

I wouldn't send an item without getting the money first, can you honestly afford to lose the money if the buyer decides not to send it?

If the buyer is doing a BAC to your account, it is very quick and you can check your account to make sure the payment has arrived in full. Rule 1 for selling on Ebay (especially desirable items like xboxes) is don't part with the goods until you have safely got the money. What you could do is something like cash on delivery. That way, the buyer doesn't have to worry about you being a dodgy seller and you know that you will either get the money, or the goods back.
  • Blimey, don't send it till you have the money! That really would be a VERY silly thing to do...BACs is quick and easy to check, quicker though is getting them to pay the money over the counter of Halifax, Natwest or whoever your account is with. Then it clears instantly, BACs can take a few days (from experience with Halifax)
