I have decided to go and find some today, I did love them in souse.
Wash them with vinegar, and burn/singe any hair off, it's easier than plucking.0 -
Thanks for all your answers, guys. I ended up making it really plain and simple; pot roasted with onions and carrots. I'll let it all settle overnight and have it for dinner tomorrow.
Since I'm grossed out by the feet I kept touching them to a minimum and only after I started frying them realised there's still hair on them. Ick. Oh well, wish me luck!0 -

My late OH loved them but I just couldn't bring myself to cook them He used to eat them when he was in Germany in the RAF in the 1950s I think they were cooked in vinegar in the oven.I will eat most things but trotters have me beat alnog with tripe which my late Mum would cook in milk.Disgusting stuff but when we had rationing you would eat whatever was put in front of you.My DD said the other day actually 'Mum you never leave anything on your plate 'Old habits die hard I think food left on the plate was a sin in our house when I was a child (usually never enough to leave anyway):)0
