Trying for Debenhams refund/exchange after 28 days
Comments

I had the same problem with Debenhams a couple of months ago - had a receipt, but item was out of 28 day period and had since been reduced. The most annoying thing is that the staff never explained they had changed their refund policy when you purchased something. I have always bought from Debenhams because it was easy to return things later on.
Oh, and another thing that happened recently - bought a shirt that was reduced 50% in Debenhams. Only AFTER I had finished paying, did the sales assistant bother to tell me that I could only get an exchange not refund because it's reduced. I wouldnt have risked buying it in the first place if I had known that.:mad:0 -
If you pay with a Debenhams card and the item is reduced at a later date, you can claim the difference. Its an annual policy that costs £20. I took it out recently as I'm fed up seeing stuff reduced to ridiculous prices just weeks after I bought it. It also covers accidental damage. Wish I'd had it a year ago when a full bottle of St Tropez leaked over a £200 cream jacket in my suitcase.0

As far as I know that is not true if the item is faulty though.0 -

I was caught out with that as well. I bought a top that was reduced, took it back a day later and was told I could only get an exchange or a refund to a Debenhams giftcard. Now I have a Debenhams gift card floating around here ready to be reused in the sales  !0 -
You have my sympathys but do have to say that Debenhams DO reduce a fair bit of stuff to £1 - I was in on Saturday and managed to get almost £500 of clothes for around £20 - no help to you but just to let you know that they were telling the truthJoined slimming world Feb 2010
