Combi vs. Conventional Boiler: usage costs.

Since having a W.B. 24i Junior fitted in August our gas usage has approximately doubled. Previously we had a 15-year-old Chaffoteuax (sp ?) which was on it's last legs. Gas costs for our two bed terraced are currently about £2/day. We're not talking a Summer/Winter comparison either. Last Winter the gas usage was just over £1/day with the old boiler. We still have an old token meter in the cellar (inspected earlier this year, so hopefully not dodgy).
Is this normal ?
Thanks,
Mike.

Approx £60 a month in gas for a 2 bed terrace seems ridiculously high unless your growing tropical plants indoors!
My bill is currently running at about 2/3 of that for a 4 bed detached using a system boiler and HW tank.
Your boiler is a combi so should theoretically at least be cheaper to run. I would be inclined to get someone to look at it pronto.0 -
Presumably it was fitted by a fully trained Corgi registered plumber, so it must be working correctly, must it not it
My usage is comparable to alanobrien's in a similar house and system to his!

Cheers. I will do. Although "pronto" and Christmas Week do not compute well together.

Yep ! It was. A Worcester Bosch proper engineer even had his hands on it. I assumed it was all tickety boo.
But whom should I be contacting ? The local installer or Worcester Bosch ?

Indeedy, on reflection best to avoid the undoubted additional xmas call out cost
and hang on until Jan 0
