just formulating plans but need some rough ideas

Hi peeps,

One of the g/fs relatives has a house in a nice area that they have to all intents and purposes abandoned. It has been unused, and uncared for, for many years. The council have warned them several times that they are on the verge of a compulsory purchase.

I want to buy this house to rent out, but it has special features. Its a four bedroomed house with a granny flat on the back AND has been specifically converted for disabled living and access, and is also less than a mile from the Hospital that deals with elderly people. Now from what I know the local NHS/Council type people are really after these type of properties. How much realistically would the council pay to rent such a property ?, Cant really go into specifics, but the aveage house price for a non modified 4 bedroom is ~£110,000

Just looking for general info and is much appreciated.

Would it not be better if you enquired to the council directly. They should have a department which deals with this kind of things. Thats what I would do.
    Debt at highest (November 2005) = £35,856

    Debt currently (August 2006) = £20,790
    &More £1,530, Egg £6,800, HSBC £3,760, Egg Loan £8,700

Interim goal = £23,400 (Target: February 2006, Missed but acheived May 2006)
    2nd Interim Goal = £15,000, Target October 2006
Debt Free Date = February 2008 BUT I'M GOING TO BE TRYING FOR SOONER!!! :p

You could try speaking to someone in social services and the nhs (as they often joint fund) in charge of commissioning accommodation services. I've been in a similar situation and although finding the right people in charge was a pain, it was worth it in the end. There is the possibility that if the property would be really useful to them, they could help you with the costs of refurbishment too.
