Hi
The box is coming away from the wall (to be honest i cant tell how it was actually held in the first place!)
Is this my responsibility to sort or will the electricity company do this?
Im concerned what may happen if the whole thing does indeed fall out

Unless you can prove that the damage was caused by a meter reader then any repairs are your responsibility unfortunately.0

The door was broken on mine a few years ago when a meter reader came to read the meter i said be careful as the door falls off (mine is outside) he said he would report it and a few weeks later someone came and fitted a new door on it no cost to me.0

I am negotiating to have my meter moved from inside to outside and EDF have not only told me that I have to buy and fix a box but which box and where I have to buy it.
They really have things tied up. I have to pay for a survey and then pay in full in advance before they will even make an appointment.0 -
If your box is falling off the wall this would be considered an electricity emergency. If the box was to fall of the wall this would be a serious health and safety hazzard. I work for British Gas, and any customer that calls stating that there meter box is coming off the wall would have an engineer out within 3 hours.
If you report this to your Supplier, and they dont come sort it, and then it falls of the wall and someone gets electricuted...whos gonna get alot of good publicity???Sunny in Southampton.0 -
Thank you for your replies.
For any future readers with a similar problem after a call to Npower they are coming to replace the meter box free of charge so all sorted0
