Recipe book suggestions

Options
Hi,

Looking for suggestions for a little recipe book for a 16 year old. She's not too great at cooking at the moment, but has to feed herself and doesn't have any 'recipes'. I am trying to put together a little book for xmas for her.

The recipes need to have simple ingredients and not be too complicated to make. As like most 16 year olds she is always flying around seeing her boyfriend and doing other stuff.

I am going through the index, but it is a long process....though you lot would probably be able to instantly make some good suggestions.

Cheers.

Look out for student recipe books, they are usually good and very simple. Or also children's cookery books. Both of these types of books are often found in charity shops because people 'graduate' to more complex cooking after learning how to make basic soups and sauces!

Looking to make a book myself rather than 'buy' one. Simpler, cheaper and she'd appreciate it more anyway. She is the sort of person who appreciates things when someone has spent time in making it for her.

You should certainly - in this day and age, include links to recipe sites:- there are plenty at the bottom of the Cooking section of the MEGA index, and of course the one in the link below is a MUST

Ha ha very funny. Have mentioned the site to her in the past, but don't think she has ventured very far as yet. The idea is to make a book....and then to say guess where these recipes came from?

:) OK - but the other sites should be useful as she gets a little more confident. Especially if it's pointed out that on quite a number of them she can list the ingredients she has to hand and it will offer some recipe choices. That way she can pick ones that she thinks she might be able to do, or at least risk experimenting with :)

Don't forget really simple things like cheese on egg on beans on toast. Very filling and easy and cheap.
