Some bad news for those who cannot access Icesave accounts online

I have just spoken to Icesave as I still cannot access one of my accounts (its has £2600 in it). The girl I spoke to says that as the admin has been frozen online access to these accounts cannot be reinstated and must be done by post. This means it will take up to 6 WEEKS longer to get this back and no extra interest will be added. I wasn't rude but told her I was very displeased as it was their fault in the first place.
For me I'm lucky as, out of about £35k its relatively small but for anyone with larger amounts this is awful.

Megsy thanks but I have seen that already. What Icesave are saying is that it will take 6 weeks on top of the process for those whose transfers can be done electronically - which easily gives you until mid-end of january. Now thats a lot extra to wait for some people especially as the problem lies with Icesave's admin. I have phoned them several times about this lack of access to one of my accounts and was told that it was definitely their problem as IDs and passwords were cancelled and needed to be reinstated which they obviously were not done.0

Very sorry to hear of this added complication jm104. Any idea why just one of your accounts has suffered this cancellation of ID and password?
Fortunately I can still access my one and only Icesave account, but your report does make me wonder just how many other people might be affected.

I lost my user ID when I moved house (my fault I know), and when I phoned Icesave weeks ago they told me they couldn't issue a new ID as their systems had been frozen. I just called to try again and they said they can't do it now as they're no longer operating as a company! Argh!0

Oblivion - I closed accounts on the sunday before the crash and as a result they stopped me accessing one account. However it was not closed (bounced back) but now I can't get in it and admin was frozen. I think a lot of people are going to get stuffed on this one.0
