I thought there was one already. I believe it is the Big Lottery Fund.0
-
Yep 2010 is the most likley date that these funds will become availabe and the Big lottery will be administering it. Is that a Good or Bad Idea? The amount of money involved is open to conjecture ranging from 400 million up to 4 billion. One idea that I heard of which I thought would be good, would be to invest a pot of money in different locations and that investment would be like a permanent endowment for those locations providing a permanent source of income to assist projects to ensure there future survival i.e say 10 million invested in 40 different locations could possibly provide an annual £500k @ a 5% return. Now that would be a good source of funding for many groups and make a difference to many peoples lives.
Strangely, on a flight to Dublin about 2 months ago I was reading an Irish newspaper and lo and behold there was an advert asking for applications from voluntary groups and non profit making organisations for this pot of money! Are they ahead of us in parts of Ireland?0 -
They might be.
I hope the money is given out evenly in England and it does not go to certain areas which the government considers to be in need whilst denying other areas money.0 -
It appears from your link that the bill received Royal Assent last week. The Queen hasn't been on holiday even if MPs have.
