desktop pc-good price?

Hi,
I'm after a basic desktop for my daughter to be used mainly for messenger,surfing and downloading music.What are the views on the following spec from Misco.

    Not too bad for the money but its going to be struggling with only 1gig ram and Vista as its O/S.

    Agreed. Without a doubt. I upgraded my 1gb desktop to 2gb. It's like a new machine. 1gb is insufficient for Vista.
  • Not bad for what you want it for, but I agreed with the all above, you do need 2gb to get the most out of Vista. However, do you have any computer hardware experience if you do then upgrade the memory yourself as a 1gb memory stick can be got for under a tenner on e-bay

  • I think ebuyer are doing 4Gb for £39.99 at the moment. Will be matched pairs as well, and for the money, is great value for the performance increase you will see. I run 4gb with XP and it works like a dream.

    I'd also go for 4gb RAM min for vista.

    I'm running 2gb on XP and I'd spend money to get more if I wasnt so cheap and prolly going to defenestrate the PC anyway in the next 12-18 months.
