Does anyone know if the "free calls to all other TalkTalk customers" will include us ontel customers using cable? I only use them for the free weekend local calls and get a monthly bill for £0.00. As cable users can only access either via a box or 0800 access code, surely this is a good freebie add-on for any cable user to just make free calls??
Can't seem to get an answer from onetel (surprise surprise they seem rather busy at the moment with enquires!!)0 -

Talk Talk do not support Cable Customers at the moment and may not wish to do so.
The only thing they seem to wanna do at moment is squeeze a few pence more out of people.Eg. line rental goes up 50p 1/2/2006 to £10.49p .Now charging for 1571(basic) 50p a month.PF.0 -

Hi,
We've just had our letter from TalkTalk telling us that they are taking over our Tele2 account. They've said that they are moving us from the £7.49 plan with Tele2 to their TalkTalk3 plan for £7.99. They then say in the next sentence "plus you'll be able to get all this" and go onto list things including "Line rental with all your favourite features...". I called their customer service number (Tele2) and spoke to an advisor and asked if we are being moved over to the TalkTalk line rental as well. I found it hard to work out what was happening. Now up until last month, TT3 was £7.99 if you took the line rental as well and £9.99 without. I'm still none the wiser if they will try to force me onto their line rental from BT. Also TT3 is now £8.99 with line rental and I think £10.99 without (not on website).
Has anybody got any idea what is going on? I want to stay with BT for line rental and another company for calls. Euphony is charging £7.25 for unlimitted calls. Should I move to them?
Thanks

TT cant make you take their line rental, and they cant just put you on it unless you agree to it,however they might charge you more for their call packages if you dont take line rental.
£7.25p a month is equivalent to approx 240 calls a month(55 a week) to 01/02 numbers on 1899.Are you making that number of calls.
If not put your peak 01/02 calls through 1899,and cps your E&W 01/02 calls through
Primus Saver 2 free of all charge.
Another advantage of this method is that you dont pay when your not using it EG holidays.PF.0 -
I emailed both TalkTalk and Onetel regarding the takeover and I received the reply from Onetel:
Dear ************
Thanks for your e-mail,
The Line rental would only be move to Talk Talk if you have Onetel Line
rental. This will not affect your BT line. If you require any further
information then please call us in on 08458 18 8179.
I hope this information is of use to you.
Regards,

I spoke to Talk Talk today, and was basically told the same thing, however the member of staff was not 100% certain - that's great and blooming helpful.

Hi,
I've also just got an email from TalkTalk. They are telling me that as a Tele2 customer, the cost of TalkTalk 3 which they are moving me to will be £7.99 per month regardless of if I take line rental with them or not. Normally it is £9.99 per month without the line rental. I'm still looking at moving though.

I was with Tele2 but on their £3.99/month plan...which I got free for 12 months and which finished last month. I have signed up to Primus (who appear to have a very efficient Cust Service dept btw...) - switch over takes place to-day (ie 8th Feb)....:)0
