EON EnergyOnline Extra Saver 8 - has the price gone up?

I've been Money Tipped!
Just though I'd check my EON account and the EnergyOnline Extra Saver 8 tarriff appears to have increased and is now the same price as most of the other products they offer :

EnergyOnline Extra Saver 8
Electricity
Normal units up to 900 kWhs
25.116 pence
Normal units
10.6995 pence per kWh

Gas
Normal units up to 2680 kWhs
6.52995 pence
Normal units
3.5574 pence per kWh

Has this been announced anywhere (especially on MSE)? I did a search and could not find any details about a price increase.

How long has it been at this rate, as I thought it was widely regarded as the cheapest EON product available.
That's Numberwang!

Yes, look at threads a page or so back. I noticed mine went up on Sunday and started a thread, so am guessing it went up on 1st November but not had letter yet.

But why do Eon not, at least, have to email their online customers?

That would be to those customers' disadvantage. And there is little difference between emailing and posting a letter - the same reasons against/for apply.

The costs and complications are not the costs of the stationery or the stamps - the costs and complications follow from the reactions of the customers to such a mailshot.

And, of course, if their customers' email providers' filters are working properly any such mass email notice would end up unread in the spam bin.
