Humax 9300T - archive to DVD?

I am looking to buy a Humnax 9300T pvr and have a couple of queries:
Is it possible to archive programmes/films you want to save onto a DVD or your pc so that the Hard drive does not get too full?
If so, how do you do this? Do you need any special kit?
And is the Humax 9300T a good buy?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

either output them direct to a DVD recorder or take the box apart and connect the hard drive to your PC as a slave drive and take them off that way. Though as the programmes will be in their native format you will then need to convert them on the PC to be DVD writeable.0
