Abbey current a/c 8% interest for transfer

In September 2007 Abbey were advertising an 8% interest rate on balances up to £2500 on current accounts transferred to them. I duly transferred an account to them and maintained a balance of about £2500 with regular monthly deposits but I only got 2.5% interest. When I complained they said I had to wait to the end of the year. Now it has been 14 months and they are giving me the run around. Unfortunately I cant find any evidence of this offer being made. Did anyone else take up this offer?

    The offer is still on here - are you sure you
    * deposited £1000 a month
    * used their account switching service
    * opted for the "in-credit" account and not the 0% overdraft account?

    I wouldn't have expected you to have to wait until the end of the year either. If interest is credited to your account monthly I would have thought it would be 8% (less tax) every month rather than 2.5% every month then an adjustment made at the end of the year to make it up to the advertised rate...

    Can you go into a branch and see someone about it?

    Sorry I didn't take up the offer, went for A&L instead but I was seriously considering the Abbey offering!

    Yes I adhered to all their terms. On the web site there is one mention of 8% but it says see note 1 and I cannot find any note 1. Mostly it refers to 2.5% which is what I have been getting.
