Always check yr meter for a battery low warning as soon as you see this msg or flashing symbol call your gas supplier to arrange to get battery replaced as it is a lot better than having it fail completely and been left with no gas until engineer comes out.

This may sound stupid but we get 100's if not thousands of calls from failed battery messages each day so it is in your interest to check

I'll second that Ms Tart,especially so in the cold weather and/or if your meter is outside.

further,if you ring up your supplier and they try and fob you off by saying things like...oh it will last for ages yet and when it finally goes,we'll sort it out,then you need to persist and insist on a visit.

If the meter is saying BATTERY it means you still have gas but the battery is failing.

If it fails,you wont have gas.

The choice is yours. Insist that its chaged NOW when its flagging the issue and you still have gas,or wait 4 hours plus in the cold if your unlucky.
