Is it possible to find out why someone has been summoned to attend court??

That wouldn't have been to the Crown Court though, which only hears criminal cases. Would have been to County Court (probably even small claims court). They may all be in the same building in your area but they are different courts and would have different headed notepaper.
Yes it was the crown court.0

Yes it was the crown court.
The crown court is a criminal court. It only hears serious criminal matters.
This is the official government link which confirms this

If you were summonsed to court about a civil debt it definitely was not to the crown court, but it may have been to a civil court in the same building - most likely as I have said the county court.0

The second link I posted gives you old cases, you need name etc and they are emailed to you.
