Which AVG version

Hi all techies, Which version of AVG is everyone using? 7.5 or 8. I have just downloaded 7.5 coz I know lots of people where having a prob with the version 8 when it came out. Has it improved? And would I need to uninstall 7.5 to upgrade to 8? Thanks

Personally I am sticking with 7.5. There are still daily updates available and touch wood it has not let me down yet. Mind you, I have a raft of other 'protection' on too - teamwork I call it.:D0

Asking for trouble not using any AV.
AVG8 slows your PC down to a snails pace avoid. Avira is a great piece of AV i would recommend. Ive tried most and until i ever have problems with it i will stick with if. I also run superanitispyware and malawarebytes anti malaware and a commodo firewall. Never had any problems.'HAIL HAIL' :dance:0 -
I gave up on AVG years ago. I use bog-standard Windows defender, TrendMicro, Hijack This, Spybot Search and Destroy and in my more neurotic moments, WinPatrol. Spybot's probably one of the best freebies (I recommend reading the user agreement if you've never seen it - aww!).Sealed Pot Challenge number 298, up yours HSBC!0

AVG 7.5 updates are supposed to shut down at the end of the year
AND 7.5 DOESNT have the spyware protection that 8 does.:idea:0 -
I run AVG8 on my Vista system and have never had any problems. Automatic updates, scans etc.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
