Ebay/Paypal - payment processing

Hoping someone can help me. I use ebay/paypal all the time but have just come accross this and getting an answer or through to paypal is impossible. I sold some items and in the payment column on ebay it says payment has been initiated and is being processed by paypal (like it would do if someone has paid by e cheque). But next to that on the end column it says claim your payment. I have logged into my paypal account and none of these transactions are showing like they would normally. When I click on the claim your payment it just goes to the paypal log on page.
I wonder if this has happened because I updated my email address on paypal and people have paid to my old account and they are not matching the 2 together.

Does anyone know how I can solve this, or a number that actually gets through to paypal (not some stupid automated man that takes you around in circles and never puts you through to anyone)

Thanks everyone

  • Sounds like you are a victim of one of paypals latest glitches

following info take from the last paragraph in the link below

PayPal said it put in a fix on Friday morning to prevent the problem from happening to new eCheck transactions, but are still working on a technology fix to release the funds to sellers accounts for those affected by the glitch. PayPal said users may call PayPal customer support to initiate a manual release of funds on a case-by-case basis, or wait for the fix

Thanks although I am not sure that all 4 sellers would have used e cheques seems strange as it tends to be maybe 1 in every 50 ish. How the hell can I get through to paypal, their system just takes you around and around in circles

Oh and these were items paid for on sunday so the glitch should have already been fixed?

You can have 7 email addresses to 1 paypal account. If you have removed your old email address you will have to add it and verify it again presuming you still have access to it.

  • Have you checked the email address you had on the listings? Find the item in your my ebay and Click the relist button, scroll down to the Payment and postage section and see which email address is there-then hit the back button!!

If the email address is Ok and it is a glitch, This is paypal/ebay trying to resolve the problem so even if they give a timeframe for fixing that could be in reality be longer

There are several threads on the ebay Discussion boards which sound similar to your problem- there was a post which said that the echeque would clear as normal 7-10days -perhaps pop over there and take a look

As well as the telephone you could email, but would imagine that you will have to wait days for a reply

Which telephone number have you tried 08707 307 191 or the Dublin Help Centre 44 353 1 436 9004, whichever one you tried before-call the other and see if it makes a difference. TBO reckon you just have to persevere -maybe rining later in the day will work

this has happened to me with a payment made today.. so glitch obviously still not fixed

'claim your payment' takes you round in circles.. no sign of any payment made to new or old registered email address.. the email informing me of pending payment from buyer arrived to old address from paypal tho

hmm.. seems mine was a result of the 'buyers' account being hacked and multiple high value purchases being made on their account... am slightly worried that I clicked the 'claim your payment' icon on the email I received about the supposed payment..

have never had this happen before.. what happens if I want to relist the item, will I still be charged for the 1st transaction?

    thanks :(
