Camera purchased from PC World- repaired 2 times

Hi
Last December my OH bought me a Fujifilm S5800 digital camera.
I noticed earlier in the year that a fine blue line appears on the screen, and on the uploaded/processed photos. My holiday photos are ruined by this line of bust pixels, and I can't afford programs like photoshop to fix them.
I had a look on fuji's website, and it says :' In the unlikely event that your camera should fail, whether your camera is within warranty or not, our team of experts are here to help. Please click continue and give us some simple details. We will then be able to priority process your warranty repair.'.
So I posted it off to fuji. They returned the camera two weeks later, with a note to say no fault was found. Switched the camera on, and within 10 mins, same problem. I was told that really it is the traders responsibility to sort it rather than the manufacturer. So off I went to PC World. I asked for a replacement after explaining the fault remained, and was told I was being ridiculous. I asked for them to send it off to fuji for me, as I can't keep paying out for special delivery postage. I was told that the store was closing that day for a 6 week refurbishment. I was told that I could take the camera down the road to Currys and they could send it off for me, as PC World and Currys are part of the same group. Camera was sent off, came back 2 weeks later- switched it on, same problem but even worse, even more lines across the screen. Note from repair shop said they had replaced 'optical unit' and the rear cover. So its currently back with fuji for the 3rd time.
I've asked again for a replacement. Currys who are sending it off for repair won't allow it, as I bought it from PC World. Apparently, I can't go to another PC World branch and get a replacement, 'it has to be from the store you purchased it from'. The new branch is not open til the 14th Nov. I've missed parties, weddings and fireworks. I'm really starting to get mad.
Can anyone advise me where I stand?
Thanks
E

Go to another PC World store and explain that the other store is closed due to Winning New Revenues (they will understand what it means) and so you have to get it done there - they won't like it but push for a new unit...Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

You can take it to ANY PC World store and they will take the unit in for you. It shouldn't have gone to Curry's anyway as PC World and Curry's do trade seperately and your purchase was from PC World.
No, i'm afraid you're not entitled to a replacement unit. The unit is older than 28 days, and therefore will be repaired by an optical 'specialist'. Should your unit be returned unrepaired an 'unreasonable' number of times then the repairs can be considered continuous from the frist time it was registered as faulty and you may be able to get a discretional swapout from one of the managers.
Internal politics between the stores means that you may be told to take it to the original store which you purchased from for this swapout but in fact as I mentioned before, ANY PC World can do this for you.

Thanks for your replies. Could you please clarify what a 'discretional swapout' is?
I've currently getting fuji to consider replacing it. I've rung them directly, and they are going to call me to let me know what they intend to do. I've been without a camera for 3 months now!DMP Mutal Support thread No 237

Are you sure that there is a fault? This could simply be taking photographs/videos into the sun or light source which will produces lines like this with any digital camera. If so, this is not a fault.0

Have you setup/used the camera correctly?0

Your posts of the "Make it up as we go along act" is also boring.
Tell you what, go sue Microsoft because someone cried when they lost at Minesweeper
As I said on another post - plumbing new depths.
Actually, I have been involved in litigation with Microsoft, but thats another story.
The basis of your "legal" advice is what exactly?0
