Moving into a new build house

At the end of the month we will be moving into a brand new house from a much older less energy efficient one. I am wondering what to do about our gas & electric provider Eon. Should we should stick them for a year when we'll roughly know our running costs and then compare? And should we continue with our current direct debit arrangement or ask to just be billed quarterly for what we have used?
Any advice gratefully received.

If you are happy with your present provider then you may just want to carry on. I wouldn`t change to quarterly as you`ll miss out on the direct debit discount. You probably know this already but don`t rely on the builders to read the meters before you move in!0
