deleting temp files

i usualy delete my cookies and temp files via ie, tools then internet options but i have just found a huge list of thingsthat are in a folder that says local settings the things it has in there are folders that say

application data
history
temp
temporary internet files

then a load of things that say

tempNER some no.s then tmp

are any of these things all safe to delete what are they?

Dont delete the application folder or the contents of it
History - you can delete the contents this is IE history but not the folder its self
Temp - you can delete the contents this but not the folder its self, some will probably be in use.
temporary internet files - again you can delete the contents but not the folder

Personally i would not use any 3rd applications.

thanks phil999 what about the ones that aren't in a folder that say


tempNER then some no.s then tmp, do you know what these are? they are actually in the local setting folder itself listed after the history & temp folders etc..
