Hi,
I have been paying child support since 1998, I have received a letter stating that I missed payments between sept 2005 and june 2006, I know I have payed them. they want proof that i have.
Firstly how much will Barclays charge me for previous statements?? and the big question is: I paid by cheque for 3 months, I dont have the cheque book anymore, If the CSA cashed it will I be able to trace it thru my bank??? or will it be untraceable??.
Ta
Mike.

Might sound like a stupid question but where paying your child support through the csa or where you paying direct to your ex partner?
Where you receiveing 6 monthly statements from the csa telling you what your balance was?0 -
Banks will keep copies of cheques they have cashed, I have requested these in the past, it takes some time, but it is possible. I'm not certain how long they keep the copies for however. For you statements, it varies between banks but again, c£5-15 per statement. Definitely try internet banking first, if you can get the cheque numbers, you can maybe get the CSA to trace the cheques at their end, as you will ba able to give them the cheque numbers and the dates they cleared.0

Could you pop into your local branch and ask them to look up your account on the screen and see if the cheques are shown as cashed there before you order any statementsThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

We will charge you £5, regardless of the size of the re-print (whether you order a day or 600 days, it is the same). Also, these are copy ledgers, not copy statements - they have the same information, but they do not have the Barclays logo or your address on them.richard9991 wrote: »do you have internet banking as some banks let you view last six years of statments on line the cheque numbers will be on the statements with the ammount paid hope this helps
We don't. Unfortunately, with some 20 million+ accounts open, that would take up an unrealistic amount of space.Ms_Chocaholic wrote: »Could you pop into your local branch and ask them to look up your account on the screen and see if the cheques are shown as cashed there before you order any statements
We can identify which chequebook ranges (i.e. 100001 to 100028) have cheques remaining, but we cannot easily identify which cheques have been cashed. Requesting copy ledgers is the best option for this. What would William Shatner do?0
